Why is membership at Brilliant Church connected to giving?
Here are the four reasons why giving is the basis for a global online movement:
- Giving is a way to confirm your identity. When there is a financial gift, it means that a financial institution knows your identity. This is a security measure since we do not have a way to confirm your identity. This protects all our members from online bots and people who mean to take advantage of our people using false identities.
- Giving is a way for us to know you are active. Regular giving is a way for us to know that you are actively participating in this movement.
- Giving supports the vision. The word “Provision” means “for the vision.” There are expenses associated with all ministries that enable the team to serve you effectively. We have a highly efficient team at Brilliant that utilizes technology and best management practices to deliver the highest experience for you in the most cost effective manner.
- Give where you want your heart to go. Jesus said, “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” - Mathew 6:21. If your heart is for activating the Kingdom in your life, your family, your community, and your business, then giving is a key part of your partnership with the Lord. Monthly or one time giving tells us you support Brilliant Church and lets us connect you with opportunities for community growth with small groups!
Seed Activates the Kingdom
Many believers do not have enough seed in the ground to activate the Kingdom in their finances.

Here are four main things that 2 Corinthians 9:6-11 teaches us:
- Principle of Sowing and Reaping (verse 6). As in farming, the seed you sow (or give) influences what you reap.
- Grace Giving from Freedom (verse 7). Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion. Never give under compulsion - that is the Kingdom way.
- The Lord’s Goal (verses 8 and 11): God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, you will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion.
- Distinguish between Seed and Bread (verse 10). Know the difference between “seed to the sower and bread for food.” Don’t eat your seed. Ask the Lord to give you seed to sow. He is committed to increasing the storehouse of your seed.
2 Corinthians 9:6-11
Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. 7 Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.
10 Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. 11 You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.
Activating the Kingdom in Your Finances
To help you, here are a few steps:
- Seed Management: Ask the Lord, “Of the money that passes through my hands, what is seed and what is bread?” Set aside a percentage of your income for seed.
- The Father’s Heart: God wants you to be like him - generous on every occasion. It is a gorgeous lifestyle! All your giving should be joyful. Learn the delight of sowing seed as a part of your relationship with Him.
- Manipulation Free. The Lord does not want you to be manipulated to give. You do not have permission to give under compulsion but only as you have determined with Him in your heart. You cannot be manipulative with your giving either because that is contrary to your new nature.
- Expectation. When you sow, you can fully expect that He will increase the storehouse of your seed. That means you will have more to sow and more bread to eat. You can fully expect that God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, you will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion.
